How romantic

Some of you may be aware of the white-out blizzard conditions that hit Utah Valley on Wednesday evening. David was on the way home, and Melissa was finishing up the shopping for the week. Things on the roads got really bad. The main route home was stopped up with a 13+ car pile-up and the alternate route up the hill was blocked by a bus that spun out of control. We met up at the parking lot of the nearby grocery store and waited about 4 hours at a restaurant for things to clear up and they only got worse. So we slowly headed by to the Seminary with some of the members of the ward who were also snowed out and set up camp for the night. The emergency three day food storage was gone in a few minutes, but there was heat. David supervised the situation throughout the night while the others slept. So, for Valentines day we got another overnighter!

Sounds like you all had quite an adventure! One of the guys I work with left at 5 pm that night, but didn't get home until 11:30 pm. He lives in Stansbury Park.
We had more than half our students not show up because they were stuck somewhere, whether it was on the freeway, in a ditch, or even their own driveway. That was one crazy night. I'm glad you are all safe and sound and you were able to get to a warm place to stay.

Glad to hear you were all okay. I wondered if the storm affected you at all. You could have stayed at our house. We had two extra beds set up downstairs, that we would have been happy to share. I'm glad you still had a warm place to stay. My aunt & uncle who also live out that direction were stuck on the main road unable to go west or east. They went through over 1/2 a tank of gas just waiting to get through. Their two daughters were at home and the strong winds blew out an upstairs window. So, they were stuck at home by themselves trying to cover it, while my aunt and uncle sat helplessly on the road. They did finally make it through sometime between 8-10pm.

Glad you got home safe!!! I hadn't heard that it got so bad down there. It didn't hit us, thank heaven!
