The Correct Pronunciation is, YEEEEEEEEE HHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAW

This week we went to Cowboy camp. It is when those who have never rode a horse go through a crash course on life simplified. It was AWESOME. A fellow S&I family was gracious to invite us to their homestead in Southern Idaho. Fresh air. Fresh food from a garden (don't ask about ours this year). Sleeping at the base of a canyon by a creek (by the way, that word is supposed to rhyme with stick). A breakfast of champions. Riding horses. Log cabin... Makes coming home depressing.

Some of the priceless lines from the trip:

"Brake, dangit, brake, BRRAAKE." - David as his steed took him directly towards and then into a low hanging branch, yes, he forgot the word "whoa".

"Are we going upstairs?" - David trying to remember the word for uphill as his horse moved around. This was his first time on a moving horse not attached to a carousel, pure comedy. I've never seen him so out of his element. He couldn't even speak straight, which has never happened without prescribed drugs.

"Would you like to ride a horse?" "NO." That's the clearest and loudest our third has ever spoken. No need to follow that up with "are you sure?"

Great babysitters also!

The horses: Dusty, Queen with Princess in the background.

In the Celestial Kingdom there are three degrees of glory...

We need to cook that first...

Happiness is... Tim in the saddle, and Maggie near a boy...

From some of the pictures below, you can tell we had not quite got the hang of getting the horses to go where we wanted. This was as close as we could pose by each other and the tallest mountain in southern Idaho.

Those pictures are great!!! Sounds like you guys had a lot of fun. And I would agree with your little one about riding a horse. I think they're BEAUTIFUL animals but I am scared to death of them. Getting my foot stepped on one when I was 6 probably didn't help. Very cool!!

One day when I get my horses, I'll invite you up. Maybe you can get the hang of it all with a little more practice! Thanks for the laughs!!!!!! Not at you but with you. :-)
