We had been told that there were mattresses on the plywood bunks...
So, in a way we had to rough it.
Tim and I enjoyed a couple hour hike with the Smith's after some delicious Blimpie sandwiches.
Oh, and there was snow, in May.
Since I could not sleep, I got up early and started the campfire, without matches a lighter, or other starter device! (Okay, so some of the ashes were still warm, but it was more manly than the lighter fluid deacon method.)
Tim had a blast, so the trip was a massive success.

Ok, so I'm going to take offense to your "camp" being in quotes. (Please don't be too offended). Heber Valley Camp is made for girls' camps, and the purpose of girl's camp is not camping, but of feeling the spirit and growing closer to the Lord. Heber Valley was dedicated as a place to do just that. We focus on our relationship to the Lord while we are there.
That said, I'm glad you had fun with Tim. And I'm sorry you didn't sleep well. :)
Agreed. It does its job well for young women. It just isn't designed for manly stuff. :)
Wow, that is a long way from our girls' camp in VT! I have fond memories of camping with you Melissa. I think we went on the fourth year overnight hike together and slept under the stars. Do you remember doing that?
