In examining our progression of negative consequences - alternative activity... time out/corner... nap... shower - we realized that the last three of our punitive actions are things we wish we had more of. Maybe if I'm bad, they'll tell me to take a nap...
Probably shouldn't try to find out...

HAHAHAHAHA!! It so true. I am going to be more naughty and see if Aaron send me for quiet time in the bedroom!
In working with developmentally disabled adults, I have found they too have figured out that concept. They will act out just so they can be sent to the "quiet room" so they can take a nap instead of doing their work. (we usually know this, and depending on how bad we think they need the break, we sometimes let them "fool us")
But naps sure are nice...
